How the series watch-time calculator works
Enter seasons, episodes per season and average episode length to find the hours of video. Playback speed changes your actual screen time; a daily time limit then turns that total into viewing days.
Video length is not always watch time
Multiply seasons by episodes per season and by minutes per episode. Divide those recorded minutes by the playback-speed multiplier. At 2ร, a 40-minute episode takes 20 real minutes; at 0.5ร it takes 80. Divide the resulting watch time by the minutes you can spend each day and round the day count up. The daily limit is already real screen time, so do not divide it by speed again.
Plan a short run or a long series
- Three seasons of ten 45-minute episodes contain 22 h 30 min of video at 1ร. With two hours available each day, allow 12 viewing days; the final day needs 30 minutes.
- Two seasons of eight 50-minute episodes contain 800 recorded minutes. At 1.25ร the watch takes 10 h 40 min. An 80-minute daily slot fits it into exactly 8 days.
- Seven seasons of 20 episodes at 42 minutes each run for 98 hours. At 90 minutes a day, that is 66 viewing days, with 30 minutes on the last day. Skipped days extend the calendar, not the video length.
Use the episodes you actually plan to watch
If seasons have different counts, enter one season and the combined number of episodes. For seasons of 8, 10 and 6 episodes, that means 1 and 24, not a rounded average. If episode lengths vary, use an average weighted by how many episodes have each length. The displayed duration is rounded to the nearest second.
Viewing days are not a finish date. The estimate excludes adverts, pauses, missed days and time spent choosing the next episode. It knows only the numbers you enter, not a streaming catalogue.
Questions about the viewing plan
These answers help distinguish recorded runtime from the time you actually set aside.
Can I calculate one season only?
Yes. Enter 1 season and the number of episodes in that season.
What if seasons contain different numbers of episodes?
Add the episodes you want to watch and enter the total as one season. This avoids rounding an average season size.
Does 1.5ร save half the time?
No. Dividing by 1.5 leaves two-thirds of the original runtime. A 2ร speed halves it.
Does the result include breaks and adverts?
No. Add those separately to your daily plan if they matter.
Is the number of days a calendar finish date?
No. It counts days on which you watch for the entered number of minutes. Missed days change the finishing date.
