Scale every ingredient with one ratio
The calculator multiplies each complete ingredient by the same serving factor, while keeping its selected unit unchanged.
Enter the recipe as it is written
Set the original and desired serving counts, then list each ingredient with its amount and unit. You can use decimals, ordinary fractions, mixed fractions, or symbols such as ยฝ.
- Keep each ingredient in the unit used by the recipe.
- Add or remove rows until the list matches your recipe.
- Read or copy the scaled list as soon as every used row is complete.
Three quick examples
Four to six servings. The factor is 1.5, so 300 g of flour becomes 450 g and 2 eggs become 3 eggs.
Eight to three servings. The factor is 3/8, so 640 g becomes 240 g and 2 pieces become 3/4 piece.
Two to one serving. Half a teaspoon becomes one quarter teaspoon.
Amounts scale better than cooking conditions
The tool does not convert grams into cups or spoons, because that would require ingredient density and a chosen measurement standard. It also does not change oven temperature or cooking time.
Salt, strong spices, leavening, pan size, and fractional eggs can need practical adjustment. For part of an egg, beating and weighing it is often easier than estimating by sight.
Questions about scaling a recipe
Can I enter 1 1/2?
Yes. The amount field accepts decimals, simple fractions, mixed fractions, and common Unicode fraction symbols.
Does the calculator convert units?
No. It preserves the selected unit and changes only the numeric amount.
Why did 2 eggs become 3/4 egg?
That is the proportional result for the chosen serving factor. Beat and weigh the egg if an exact fraction matters.
Should I scale baking time too?
Not automatically. Time depends on the pan, thickness, appliance, and doneness cues.
How many ingredients can I add?
The calculator supports up to 30 ingredient rows.
